I have been Grilling for most of my 55yrs of age. My Brother and I have a competition cook team and compete in KCBS and ICBS cookoffs. We seem to do rather well with these events. My Wife and I are KCBS certified judges.
My wife decided to give me a Primo XL for christmas after hearing some of my friends tell me how much they enjoyed their Primos. Needless to say I was surprised.
Last night I cooked beef short ribs. To say they were incredible was an understatement. Tonight I cooked some chicken leg quarters after work. My wife told me it was the best chicken she had ever tasted!
I am still amazed at the way the Primo burns lump charcoal so efficiently. The temp control is better than any pit I have used. The woman that sold the pit suggested to start the coals with a paper towel 2/3 wet with cooking oil buried in the charcoal. Here again I was surprised at how easy it was to get the coals going.
Overall I am impressed with the quality, efficiency and design of the Primo.
