My buddy has an Egg and it is a great cooker for sure and the food produced on his is top shelf. I went to the store to buy one and was surprised at how little room there is on the BGE. It is pretty small. They do have another one out that is bigger, but the dome is different then the regular BGE (shallow) - I checked out the Primo XL in person and bought it that day! Since using it for everything from burgers, dogs, brats, chicken, fatties, ribs, brisket, and butts, I was so impressed I got rid of my Lynx Gas Grill AND my Stumps Competition smoker...it is that good! Being as how both the BGE and Primo are ceramics, I doubt there is much difference in cold weather cooking...but there is a large difference in size and versatility no doubt.
